  • Notification Released: 20 May 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: 09 June 2026 (6:00 PM)

Breakup:

  • IMA (Indian Military Academy): 100
  • INA (Indian Naval Academy): 26
  • AFA (Air Force Academy): 32
  • OTA Men: 275
  • OTA Women: 18

Major New Application Changes

Live Photo Capture Mandatory

Candidates must:

  • Upload photo
  • Capture live photo during CAF filling

New Signature Rule

You must:

  • Sign three times below each other
  • Use black ink
  • Upload clearly

Face Authentication at Exam Centre

Mandatory face authentication at exam venue. Reach early.

Aadhaar Strongly Recommended

UPSC advises using Aadhaar for smoother verification.


Big Warning: No Correction Window

  • No application withdrawal after submission
  • No edit/correction after form submission
  • Preference changes also not allowed

This is stricter than many previous exams.


Age Limits

IMA

  • Age: 19–24 years
  • Birth: 1 July 2003 – 1 July 2008
  • Unmarried males only

INA

  • Same as IMA

Air Force Academy

  • Age: 20–24 years
  • Birth: 1 July 2003 – 1 July 2007
  • CPL holders: relaxation up to 26 years

OTA Men

  • Age: 19–25 years
  • Birth: 1 July 2002 – 1 July 2008

OTA Women

Eligible:

  • Unmarried women
  • Issueless widows
  • Issueless divorcees not remarried

Educational Qualification

IMA / OTA:

  • Graduation in any stream

INA:

  • Engineering degree OR B.Sc. with Physics + Maths at 10+2

AFA:

  • Graduate with Physics + Maths in 10+2 OR Engineering degree

Final-year students can apply.


Exam Pattern

IMA / INA / AFA

  1. English — 100
  2. General Knowledge —100
  3. Elementary Mathematics —100

Total Written = 300 marks

OTA

  1. English —100
  2. General Knowledge —100

Total Written = 200 marks


Negative Marking

  • Wrong answer: −0.33 marks
  • Multiple answers: treated wrong
  • Unattempted: no deduction

Air Force Candidates: Important Rule

If applying for Air Force:
AFA must be your first preference, otherwise preference becomes invalid.


SSB Process

Two-stage selection:

Tie-Breaking Rules Added

If final marks tie:

  1. Higher written marks
  2. Higher GK marks
  3. Older candidate preferred

  • Smart watches
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Electronic gadgets
  • Bags

Even switched-off phones can lead to debarment.
